Boerboel Puppies & Litters

Boerboel Puppies & Litters

SABT and EBBASA Registered Breeders

If you wish to be considered for a puppy from one of our litters, please complete the contact form on the "contact information" page.

All "contact" enquiries will be answered within 24 hours and we will automatically add you to our boerboel news mailing list. Our puppies will all be booked in advance so potential interest and "contact" is advised at an early stage.

As a prospective new puppy owner you will be emailed a short "puppy questionnaire" to complete and return to us once you have decided if a Boerboel is the right dog for you, or not . If we are sure that you can provide a good home for a Boerboel and we ourselves are able to provide you with a suitable puppy that meets your companionship requirements, we will add you to our waiting list for the next available litter and send email updates when a mating is planned.

We will not promise to "reserve" a puppy unless a 30% deposit is received. Reservations are normally only accepted by us once a scan confirms a successful mating, but we are prepared to make exceptions for those that wish to secure a puppy prior to the next upcoming mating, as long as the deposit is paid.

Once you have made it on to our "reserved" list we will then invite you to come and visit us so you can meet our dogs in their home environment. Meeting our dogs is completely at the discretion of the prospective new puppy owners and we will not force anyone to do it if they don't think it's important, however, we would strongly urge you to take advantage of this opportunity so you can experience the true nature of a Boerboel during work, rest, and play.

We may also request a quick visit to your home so it is in your own best interests to not tell us any lies when filling in our puppy questionnaire form.

Please note:

With regard to reservations and deposits:

If we, Lancashire Boerboels, are unable to sell you a puppy for any reason after you have reserved it and paid a deposit, your deposit will then become FULLY REFUNDABLE,  and it will be returned  to you within 48 hours.

If you, the buyer, decide for any reason that you no longer want to purchase the puppy after we have reserved it for you, the deposit will then become NON REFUNDABLE.

WHY???

The reason for the non-refundable deposit is because if we have agreed to reserve a puppy for you, we then consider that to be a verbal contract. If we have a litter of 7 pups with 10 good homes waiting, 3 of those potential new owners will need to be rejected and disappointed by us once we accept reservations for the pups in that litter.

If a reserved buyer later decides to pull out from our verbal contract that leaves us having to find another suitable home at the very last minute. Other people on our waiting list may have gone to a different breeder by then, and so we are left with the difficult task of trying to re-advertise, care for, and find another home for the lone pup.

If you have any questions you want to ask us about deposits and reserved pups, please feel free to do so on the contact form.

Do not commit yourself to buying a Boerboel puppy unless you are 100% sure it's the puppy you really want! You must also be 100% sure that you are capable of providing it with the "forever home" it deserves and needs.

Choosing your puppy

Picks from each litter are offered in order of the deposits we receive. First come, first served.

You will be informed of which pick you are getting once your deposits has been paid.

We allow new owners to pick their own puppies based on whatever personal criteria they see as important to themselves (size, colour, markings, gut instinct etc), but we will also suggest suitable temperament matches based on the new owners requirements from a dog and what we will know about the pups character as we watch it grow from week to week. (dominant, submissive, chilled out, high drive, etc etc).

We determine a pups character by submitting it to the Volhard test at various stages of its development during the first 8 weeks of its life. No breeder can fully guarantee a pups' "fully grown" temperament by judging it over its first few weeks of life, but a general idea can be gained about the pup early on just by watching its interactions with the littermates, and monitoring its reactions to external stimuli.

Ultimately, every dogs temperament and also its' character, are influenced and created by its owner from the puppy stages up to adulthood. Genetics will always play their part in things but behaviour can always be modified, shaped, and moulded.

No dog was ever born to be bad, the only time they "become" bad is in the hands of their very bad owners!!.

Our pups will leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age and all will have the following before we say our "farewells and goodbyes".
