Here at lancashire boerboels we strive to breed boerboels that are stable in mind, body, spirit and character. Only dogs of impeccable health that are true to type, conformation, temperament and character, will be considered for use in our breeding program.
All our dogs have documented 5 generation (20 year) pedigrees from fully health tested, registered, and highly appraised boerboel ancestry. The heritage of our dogs encompasses some of the very best U.K, South African , and European bloodlines, to have emerged in the boerboel world over the last 10-20 years.
Much revered lines such as Avontuur, Grootgeluk, Ysterberg, and Marvell, all feature heavily in our dogs ancestry but we must also show our appreciation and gratitude to other lines in our dogs' heritage such as Celtic Connections, Dopper, Mizpah, and Egoli.
All these respected bloodlines, (in their own ways), have each played a part in establishing "The Boerboel" as the majestic and magnificient dog breed that it has now become today.

Boerboels are a large working molosser breed of dog originally bred in South Africa.
The word "boerboel" derives from "boer" (the Afrikaans/Dutch word for "farmer"), and "boel" (the Afrikaans word for "dog").
"Boerboel" thus translates as either "farmer's dog" or "Boer's dog".
